What We Do . . .

The Massachusetts Avenue Project proudly hosts the Growing Green Program, a youth development and urban agriculture program about increasing healthy food access and revitalizing the Buffalo community through urban farming, healthy nutrition, environmental stewardship and social enterprise.  In addition to its urban farm Growing Green also hosts a youth enterprise, a farm to school initiative, a mobile market and runs various workshops related to urban agriculture.  MAP's  Food Ventures Program has been suspended until further notice.  Call (716) 882-5327 ext. 4 for more information.

Our offices are located at 271 Grant Street (the former Northwest Library) in the Grant St. Neighborhood Center, with PUSH Buffalo.  MAP's urban youth farm is at 389 Massachusetts Avenue & features Buffalo's first straw-bale greenhouse, a 1000-gallon rain water catchment system, and Buffalo's first local aquaponics system.  We provide on site demonstrations

Adopt-A-Bed!

Are you looking for a way to support the work that MAP is doing?  Please consider adopting a garden bed for the 2010 growing season.

We are seeking adopters now- individuals, families, groups of friends, businesses, nonprofit groups, block clubs and school groups.

No work is required on your part, we will care for the garden bed for you and make sure that the produce grown in your bed goes to good use.  You will receive updates on your garden bed throughout the season written by Growing Green's Youth employees.
