Our Job & Leadership Training

We run a school year program, consisting of three 8-week segments running from October through May, and a summer program, which is 6 weeks during the teens' summer breaks. Teens are employed to work and learn within five different program areas: Urban Farming, Healthy Eating and Food Access, Mobile Market and Local Business, Social Justice and Advocacy, and Social Enterprise. They help plan and plant at the farm, harvest vegetables, sell food at the market, cook and sell value added items, and engage in local politics. Teens must work in our Summer program in order to participate in our school year program.

We aim to engage teens as partners in our decision making process, and to provide our employees with meaningful work.
