Mobile Market Specialist
(Part Time, Seasonal)

Commitment: Seasonal part time position, Tuesday-Saturday, Approximately 20 hours per week

Location: In office at 387 Massachusetts Avenue and throughout the city at our Markets
Compensation: $18 per hour, paid federal holidays
Education & Experience: Understanding of local food systems and passion for local, seasonal food is required.
Position Summary: The Mobile Market Specialist will work with the Mobile Market team to bring fresh, affordable, and culturally appropriate food to Buffalo neighborhoods. The Market Specialist’s primary role is to build community around fresh food. This task is accomplished by operating mobile market locations, building relationships with customers, and sharing knowledge about fresh/local food and where it is sourced from. The Specialist will work with MAP Staff to train volunteers, interns, and Growing Green Youth on all aspects of market operations, coordinate operations of the Mobile Market, communicate with market sites, and assist with marketing of local products. Generally, the position will be about 80% lifting/standing/driving, with 20% being office time for bookkeeping, tidying, or expense tracking.
