Seasonal Mobile Market Positions
We are currently hiring multiple seasonal staff members to support MAP's Mobile Market for the 2026 season. Position Summary: The Mobile Market Specialist will work with the Mobile Market team to bring fresh, affordable, and culturally appropriate food to Buffalo neighborhoods. The Market Specialist’s primary role is to build community around fresh food. This task is accomplished by operating mobile market locations, building relationships with customers, and sharing knowledge about fresh/local food and where it is sourced from. The Specialist will work with MAP Staff to train volunteers, interns, and Growing Green Youth on all aspects of market operations, coordinate operations of the Mobile Market, communicate with market sites, and assist with marketing of local products. Generally, the position will be about 80% lifting/standing/driving, with 20% being office time for bookkeeping, tidying, or expense tracking.
Commitment: Part time, Seasonal. 20 hours per week for 5 months. Candidates must be available between the months of May through October to qualify for this position. Specialists will be required to operate approximately 4 3-hour long Markets per week. Specialist shifts may vary day to day between the hours of 9am-2pm or approximately 2pm-8pm.
Compensation: $20 per hour, paid federal holidays
Mobile Market Community Ambassador
Position Summary: Community Ambassadors will work closely with the Mobile Market team to assist with community outreach, customer satisfaction, and education about our markets that bring culturally appropriate food to Buffalo neighborhoods. Community Ambassadors should be neighborhood residents in areas where there are MAP Mobile Markets, who can assist with community outreach, education, bond building, and possible language interpretation. The Community Ambassador’s primary role is to serve as a bridge between MAP’s Mobile Market and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Commitment: Part time, Seasonal. 12 hours per week for 5 months. Candidates must be available between the months of May through October to qualify for this position. Community Ambassadors will work approximately 4 3-hour long Markets per week. Work will take place on site during Mobile Market Operations, typically weekdays between the hours of 10:30am - 1:30pm; or approximately 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
Compensation: A $900 dollar monthly stipend ($18.75/hr) will be paid (biweekly) to Community Ambassadors working 12 hours per week for 5 months.
