Mobile Market Procurement Coordinator (FT)

Commitment:  Full-time, 40 hours/week
Application Deadline:  Rolling until filled
Location: In office at 387 Massachusetts Avenue & throughout the city of Buffalo with Mobile Market truck
Compensation:  $43,000 with benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, retirement benefits, Paid Time Off, 15 paid holidays and more
Experience: Some experience working with local food systems or procurement
Minimum Requirement: NYS Driver’s License with a clean driving record

Description: The Mobile Market Procurement Coordinator will work with the Mobile Market team to bring fresh, affordable, and culturally appropriate food to Buffalo neighborhoods. The Market Procurement Coordinator’s primary role is to build community around fresh food. This task is accomplished by operating mobile market locations, building relationships with customers, and sharing knowledge about fresh food. The Procurement Coordinator works closely with local farms to promote and support the advancement of local food distribution. The Procurement Coordinator will also work with MAP Staff to train Seasonal Mobile Market Specialists, seasonal volunteers and interns, and Growing Green Youth Employees on all aspects of market operations, coordinate operation of MAP’s Mobile Market, communicate with market sites, and marketing of local producer products.

Mobile Market Specialist (PT)

Commitment:  Seasonal part time position, Monday-Saturday (20-30 hrs/wk) (May-November)
Application Deadline:  Rolling until filled
Location: In office at 387 Massachusetts Avenue & throughout the city of Buffalo with Mobile Market truck
Compensation:  $18 per hour, 6 sick days, 15 paid holidays
Experience: A love of sustainably produced fruits and vegetables and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge
Minimum Requirement: Flexible
schedule is crucial; ability to work evenings, weekdays, and occasional Saturdays; Ability to safely lift 50 pounds in and out of a raised truck bed, repeatedly;  Ability to drive and safely maneuver a Box Truck (does not require a commercial drivers license) and a clean driving record. 

Description: The Mobile Market Specialist will work with the Mobile Market team to bring fresh, affordable, and culturally appropriate food to Buffalo neighborhoods. The Market Specialist’s primary role is to build community around fresh food. This task is accomplished by operating mobile market locations, building relationships with customers, and sharing knowledge about fresh/local food and where it is sourced from. Generally, the position will be about 80% lifting/standing/driving, with 20% being office time for bookkeeping, tidying, or expense tracking.
