Mobile Market Coordinator

The Mobile Market Coordinator will work with the Mobile Market team to bring fresh, affordable, and culturally appropriate food to Buffalo neighborhoods. The Market Coordinator’s primary role is to build community around fresh food. This task is accomplished by operating mobile market locations, building relationships with customers, and sharing knowledge about fresh food. The Mobile Market Coordinator works closely with local farms to promote and support the advancement of local food distribution. The Coordinator will also work with MAP Staff to train interns and Growing Green Youth on all aspects of market operations, coordinate operation of the Growing Green Mobile Market, communicate with market sites, and marketing of local producer products.

*This is a seasonal part-time paid position (Approx 20hrs). Multiple seasonal positions available. Candidates must be available from mid May-November 2022 to be eligible for this position. Other opportunities with the Mobile Market are available to candidates that are not available for the entire market season.

Development Coordinator - Americorps VISTA

The VISTA will expand delivery of MAP’s Food Access Initiative (FAI) by working closely with MAP staff to identify and diversify funding opportunities, strengthen existing funder relationships, conduct beneficiary surveys, and design marketing & communications materials which will be used to leverage funding to support the expansion of FAI services. The VISTA must have experience with social media campaigns including facebook and instagram, writing and designing newsletters, press releases, and other marketing materials.

Food Justice Youth Educator (Americorps position)

The Food Justice Youth Educator will work closely with MAP’s Youth Education Director to facilitate a 6- week summer youth employment program, training  urban teens (age 14-20) in in urban agriculture, food systems, micro-enterprise and social justice.  The Food Justice Youth Educator will work with a team and be responsible for teaching lessons, coordinating games, tracking youth attendance, supervising youth work, modeling positive behavior and resolving behavior issues as needed.  The FJ Educator will support youth with journaling activities, writing blog posts and sharpening practical math skills and will have opportunities to work alongside youth on our Urban Farm and in our Commercial Kitchen.

Growing Green Youth Program 

Growing Green Youth Employee - First, fill out an application on the City of Buffalo's website for the Mayor's Summer Youth Internship Program (MSYIP). Next, contact the Youth Education Director to let them know you would like to be placed at MAP. Applications are due April 14, 2022. 

Mobile Market EXPRESS Volunteer

*Unpaid, commitment up to you, college credit optional. Applications accepted on a rolling basis.

Become a neighborhood ambassador for a Mobile Market site; gain valuable knowledge about Buffalo's diverse communities AND our local food system. This position is part of a study conducted by the University at Buffalo's Veggie Van Research Team. Volunteers will have the unique experience of participating in scientific research as it applies to food access. 

Mobile Market Street Team 

*Unpaid, commitment up to you, college credit optional. Applications for summer positions due May 18th

Join our Street Team to learn how to organize and build awareness at a grassroots level. You'll gain valuable knowledge about Buffalo's diverse communities, our local food system, community building, and build power to fight food justice in our city!
